Who built this site
Hi, my name is Sari, I'm the developer of mittoday.com and this is my personal project. I'm a big fan of David Allen's Getting Things Done and Zen Habits' MIT Today concepts. Basically it's about writing what you want to achieve in life and making sure that you do at least one thing every day to achieve it. Often times you do so many things in a day but none of them contributing any progress to your goal.
So the daily exercise is to write down what you need to do today, and have that one step forward to make your dreams come true :) --hence the Most Important Tasks today!
How it started
All right, it started early February 2010 when my husband needed a career improvement, to be self employed and have his own consultancy business. So we talked about how to achieve it etc, and he's saying that he would need a daily reminder to make this work or he wouldn't have time to start thinking and acting on it. "Okay," I said. "I'm not good with reminding you frequently. But I'll make sure you'll receive your daily reminder." :D So off I went with Yii Framework (really productive tools!) and built this system.
So my husband was happy :), but then he told me that the system should be able to receive commands via email, because he can't access Internet at work (only email). "Okay, don't worry hon, we can do that," I said, while not knowing what to do to make it happen :D Anyway, I did some research and finally able to implement that.
MIT Today for you
So I was thinking, if this could be useful for me and my husband, why don't we let people use it and help them achieve their goals? So I opened the registration function, and tell my friends about it. I hope this system could be useful to you too :)
